Easily manage window positions and sizes.

BetterSnapTool allows you to easily manage your window positions and sizes by either dragging them to one of your screens corners or to the top, left or right side of your screen. This lets you easily maximize your windows or position them side by side. In addition, you can set keyboard shortcuts in order to move and resize your windows the way you want.

BetterSnapTool is very customizable and will change the way you work with your Mac! It supports multiple monitors, hidden dock, and more. You can change the design of the preview window and even set application specific snapping sizes!

The best screen tool I've ever used on a Mac. This should be part of OS X. I support a mixed environment of PC's and Mac, and Windows screen sizing features are so much better than OS X. This application bridges that gap!

BetterSnapTool 1.6.1. I have configured a shortcut that is supposed to set the position of only the front window of iBooks. However, it moves the front window of ANY app that is open. I have asked for help with this problem several times and so far have not received any reply. Has the developer closed down all support?

This app is *wonderful* I have tried just about every window management/window snap tool available, and this is one of the very best. Not only that, it is also one of the cheapest! Previously I used Flexiglass, which costs $10 and does far less than BetterSnapTool (BST). I have also tried Spectacle, which is free, and that is a good tool - but BST just does a lot more. The basic window snapping functionality works perfectly, with a great range of configurable shortcuts. I also really like the popup menu that can be put on a shortcut, meaning you can get access to all the window snapping options without assigning every one to a shortcut. The new Snap Area feature is also very clever and useful. I particularly like the ability to override the window title buttons (red/yellow/green) - a feature I have seen only in BST and Flexiglass, and BST does it far better: with a long list of possible actions that can be assigned to either the right mouse button or middle mouse button, on any of the three buttons. So in total you have 6 different actions that can be assigned, which is very useful. The only bad thing I found in BST is that it does not automatically remind the user to add it to Security & Privacy -> Accessibility. It really needs to do this, as otherwise it can be confusing as to why the app does nothing. For $2 this app is an absolute no-brainer - it does far more than many apps that cost 5 times that price!

As others have said, this app quickly becomes indispensable. Simple, stable, and oh, so handy. Just being able to quickly resize and move windows to the corners of one's screen is worth the price of admission.

I use this so frequently I've almost forgotten it isn't an integral part of the OS X GUI - it should be. It's just so easy to set up two or more windows in convenient positions on the screen to switch from one to another, to click back to full screen mode or whatever. Very versatile yet very simple. I'd be happy to pay significantly more for such a useful app.

I have tried many others, this is the one I like best. It's simple and easy to use.

It's efficient, rather simple to use, offers decent customization options, but has a few small bugs. For the price, this app can't be beat. It's easy to use and once you get used to it, something you'll use often. Two small observations though... It constantly forgets the custom snap areas I've set up, which is a huge pain. And it would be better if we could type in numbers for the the customizations (border-width, rounded corners, etc.) rather than having to fidget with sliders, which never seem to land on the number I want.

After trying tons of other window managers like Clinch, Glitch or whatever that name is, Plexiglass, BetterTouchTool, Moom, Divvy, SizeUp, etc etc... I came across this app. And its wonderful because it lets me control snap recognition areas — which is SO great when you are using multiple desktops/monitors aka "Spaces", the speed of the animation (or just turn that off completely), corner radius of the resized window preview, the delay before snapping, border width, border and background colors of preview window... LOVE IT!!! You can also set its behaviour: normal app, menu bar item of faceless. I prefer using my mouse/wacom pen instead of pressing a few keyboard shortcuts. Moom is also great though, but I only like the green resize button alteration in Finder windows.

This is the best software for those of us who like to move and resize windows. With a few tweaks to settings you can instantly put things where you want them including move to another screen. Question, it's a little glitchy in my yosemite beta. Any chance of upgrading?
