Although I bought and use Mach Desktop, and like it's easy of use and many nice features, I have to say that I'm very impressed with Screenwatcher. It took a little time to figure out the interface and see how to add and activate QT and Quartz compositions, but it wasn't hard to do. And I really like that I can create *categories" of movies and thus have playlists of videos I want to show on my desktop. I can't do this with Mach Desktop. Way cool, especially for a free app. Highly recommend Screenwatcher.

Seemed to work fine for me in 10.6.4. Not the most intuitive app, but certainly was capable of displaying the screen saver on the desktop. If you're looking for this sort of thing, then give it a shot.

Don't loose your time downloading this "app". It does not work at all (at least with SL10.6.4). A window opens when launched, but no file can be input to it. There is no menu and no help file (neither when using the app nor even in the downloaded folder). The downloaded folder itself is 41.9 Mb but the "app" itself is only 1.5 Mb. the rest is stuffed with pseudo "samples", actually just short films without any possibility to use them in Screenwatcheran no demo or tutorial. All this looks that a silly joke, especially for those who you pay the bandwith.
