What’s new in version 8.3

  • New Modulation Gate Randomizer: This function incorporates waveform-based oscillations, allowing for more dynamic and varied rhythmic patterns. Different waveforms (sine, square, triangle, sawtooth) are randomly selected, generating oscillating values that fluctuate between 0 and 1 for a richer rhythmic experience.
  • New House Matrix Gate Randomization: Added to the existing Jazz and Techno patterns, the new House matrix gate randomization type creates dynamic transitions essential for house music. It features higher probabilities for staying in the same state or transitioning to adjacent states, promoting smoother rhythmic flow.
  • Updated Panning LCD Display: The panning display now shows musical note values based on tick values. Adjustments will display notes like 1/8, Dotted 1/8, 1/4, etc., and for longer durations, it will show bars (e.g., 3.0 Bars).

I'm thoroughly chuffed with Discovery Pro 8. Its sound quality is top-notch, brimming with richness and clarity. The support for WAV files and nifty resampling features are quite the boon for creative sound design. Impressively, I can easily run up to 128 voices per core on my M1 Mac Studio and the extensive library of presets caters brilliantly to any genre. It's becoming an indispensable asset in my studio.

Discovery was ones a very good vsti plugin. It sounds great and emulates the Nord Lead synths nicely but sadly it cannot cope with the rest of the bunch nowadays. There are now definitely much better alternatives (read: way way way better) and much cheaper too. On a side note: Discovery also requires much more CPU power compared to others. Some sounds even bog my i7 at 80%. I suggest looking at D16 Lush101 synth. It is cheaper and produces incredible sounds (better compared to Discovery). Conclusion: first look at all the (free and payed) alternatives before paying for this.

About twenty years ago I owned a original Nord Lead 1 It was a great VA-synth that sounded really analog enough to fool many ears. NL2 and most certainly NL3 aren't very good imo and so is this VST plugin. It just sounds too digital to me. For me there is only one really good VST plugin doing incredibly analog emulations : B16 Lush101 Its less expensive then Discovery Pro and way better sounding.

Very good vsti but too expensive. I like the Nord Lead patch import. Please consider a lower price.

Come on guys, it's not shareware when it's nearly $200! Next you'll be claiming Office or Photoshop is shareware too! It's commercial software & should be listed as such.
