Removes font cache files.

FontNuke is a utility application that removes corrupt or troublesome font cache files. I created this application as a tool for my personal use at the office, and has become very useful for me. To grant individual non-admin users the ability to remove font cache files, without my involvement--is huge! Not to mention intelligent application quitting, plus a guaranteed reboot, makes my life easier. FontNuke removes system font caches, Adobe font caches (*.lst), Microsoft Office font caches, and now also (as of version 1.1.9) all versions of QuarkXPress font cache files. Not to mention it's free.

I have recently added an option which purges spotlight indexes on startup volume from /.Spotlight-V100. This has been added due to some intermittent unresponsiveness when searching network volumes for some of my MCX clients. Please use this feature with caution. See the FontNuke homepage for more details.

Absolute superb piece of software! I'm using Linotype Font Explorer X at the mo for all ATM-Deluxe-esque font management and even it's clean caches section doesn't do what FontNuke does. After the necessary Restart everything works perfectly. WOW! Kudos.

A great "Bacon-Saver" for me when I was scheduled to read a paper tonight and found it all had turned into typographers's "greek."

Five minutes with Font Nuke and I was a genius again!

Many thanks!

I was pulling my hair out having fonts in my font book that weren't usable in programs, esp. word processing. I read about lots of other solutions that were supposed to work but didn't. Finally I stumbled upon a recommendation for Font Nuke and figured it was worth a try. Amazing! Installed, rebooted and all of my font issues were immediately resolved. I'm so glad I found this excellent app! It saved my sanity!

All my fonts suddenly mashed-up in my Keynote templates, but this app solved the problem! After a panic one-hour before I was due to teach a class and I found this and tried it for the first time. FontNuke saved the day!

I normally think I keep a tidy system. I use OnxX, MainMenu, etc. to keep the system clean and manage fonts with FontExplorer. However, FontNuke found and nuked font caches that had managed to avoid detection and extermination since 2002. Very impressive! I am still using Tiger 10.4.11 but am very close to upgrading to Leopard via a clean install with fresh install of all applications. With FontExplorer's continuing problems with its own cache cleaning utility and the confusing and mysterious font locations/caches introduced on any system by Adobe and MS Office applications, FontNuke is a "must" for anyone who messes with fonts.
