Does not work well with Sierra (OS 10.12). Superseded by Solitaire Forever v. 1.4.2

Thanks for pointing that out Tweety. I've fixed the requirements and also added version 1.3.6 that does support PPC as an alternate download.

Thank you so much for fixing the audio cutout! Did you add some more animations or just reset the animation settings when I upgraded? I'm pretty sure the foundation wasn't swinging around like that before, but I didn't keep the old version to check.

ha, I thought the audio cut-out problem was something on my end. Thanks a bunch for the fix of a great free time stealer/filler upper.

This is outstanding. It looks great, and appears very professionally done. Wow! I can't believe you are letting us have this for free. It is so very nice. Thanks a lot for the cool game. I'm afraid I'm going to be wasting a whole lot of time playing it - but that's a good thing ;-)) Thanks again.

Pretty but buggy. It wouldn't let me move a 4H3S stack onto 5S to free up a 5C to move to the foundation.

No worries, that's not a bug. Most people don't realize that the official rules for Klondike only allow you to move just the top card, or the entire pile of face-up cards. You are not allowed to move a partial pile. Good news though! Klondike Forever will allow you to move partial piles. Simply turn on "Relaxed Rules" in the "Options" menu, or from the option screen. :)

How about supporting the variant that gives you one pass through the stock one card at a time? My grandmother played that one and got quite sarcastic when I re-used the stock.

Good news, you can set those rules if you want. I accidentally broke it in v1.3, as MTCOBRA pointed out in the previous comment, but it's fixed now in v1.3.1. Select "Choose New Game" from the "File" menu, and set the rules you want to use. There are a few rules you can customize.

Oh, I see them. Why isn't the "relaxed rules" checkbox in with the rest of the variants?

Ah yes, I see your point. There is a reason actually. Klondike Forever is simply a copy of Solitaire Forever, but only has one game, and is free. The relaxed rules option is "as is" the way you see it in Solitaire Forever, where it varies from game to game, as seen in the individual game rules. The game rule settings you see in Klondike Forever were a bonus. In Solitaire Forever, that screen is where you choose from a massive list of games. I needed something on that screen, so I added those options. I hope it isn't too ackward the way it is. Perhaps in the next version, I will duplicate the "Relaxed Rules" option into the screen with the rule settings. And/or mention "allow partial piles to be played".

Beautiful game, but it would not let me change from dealing 3 at a time to 1 at a time. Registered on the interface display, but didn't "take" in the game as played. A bug? or did I miss something?

Yes, indeed this is a bug, the previous version had no problems dealing only 1 card.

To the developer: Hi, thank you very much for the the quick fix. I first tried to reach you thru the contact form at your web site but got an error when submitting the message (tried several times using Safari 3.1). So, maybe this needs a fix, too ;-)

Oh wow, you're right! And I thought everything was going smoothly since no one was writing to me. It was working a few days ago. The host for my web site handles the "contact" page. I just e-mailed him and told him the problem. Hopefully he gets it working again real soon.

This is one of the best, if not the best, Klondike games I've come across. And it's free! It's fast, the opengl effects are smooth, and plenty of options to set up the game's appearance the way you want. For example, if some of the various effects seem too much, just turn them off. (I did) And No built-in restrictions or limitations, just play away. For basic Klondike, I never found anything all that great for the Mac. This software is just unbeatable. The only suggestion I would have to improve upon it is an option to display a dialog when you run out of playable cards to win the game, instead of having to figure that out the old-fashioned way.
