What a neat app! I'm not really a writer, but I AM an old lady who sometimes can't think of the exact word I'm looking for! Really appreciate this developer for coming up with this!

Always one of my favorite helper programs, it's great to see it back. The price hasn't changed :) I only wish it was a service under Lion. Still, for the cost, you can't go wrong.

WordNetX and Nisus contain the same data from WordNet online -- if I'm reading the info from Nisus correctly I happen to find Nisus closer to my needs. So neither contains the word 'logomachy' - -

Polished and very useful. I have used it for many months and it feels like a fundamental part of my Mac.

This is the best Dictionary/Thesaurus app on the Mac. Check out additional options as you drill down into a definition.

This is a fantastic little app! My compliments to Nisus for develoing and distributing this phenomenal service for OS X, it works as advertised, even in Panther.

to get it to work in "services", first the application must be in your application folder, then you must be using a services aware program like textedit or safari.

Wow - free! The support team is very responsive, too. I coudn't get it to work in Services - turned out it has to live on my internal hard drive. Works great...

To davidcrickett & Whytoi - It is not because Word is not a Cocoa app, but because it doesn't make use of Services. I sure hope the do in the next version. And anyway, Word has its own built-in Thesaurus. Otherwise, Nisus Thesaurus is very nice. Thanks Nisus. If only one could replace the selected word from inside Nisus Thesaurus by double clicking, for example. But this may be a limitation in the way Services work, so no star deducted there.

This is FANTASTIC! It even has terms that are considered "offensive" or slangs. Simple, huge vocabulary library, and it's FREE!

Why can't it integrate with MS Word? Is that something that was deliberately blocked by Nisus? Otherwise it's great.

Very neat. Integrates nicely with Mellel and OmniWeb. I assume it also works with Nisus Writer Express but I don't have a copy to try it.
