Runs super on OSX 10.6.8. Looks beautifully, runs like a charm. Encryption of mails within Thunderbird 8.0 and encryption of files without problems. NOTE: You have to remove the GnuPG.prefPane of the older version 1.2.2 by hand or the prefPane for this version stays empty. Other than that: FIVE STARS!
Dear GPGTools Project Team: Thank you very much for this project and your efforts. Just to let you know that with a stable Mac OS X 10.6.8 (10K549) and a stable Mail 4.5 (1084) GPGTools-20111224.dmg (GPGPreferences-0.9.2.dmg also installed) Mail crashes upon launch.
Repairing Privileges and after a Disk Warrior 4.4 same problem. Only un-installing GPGTools-20111224 Mail came back to life; but we still need your "little pearl" that was working OK with GPGTools-20111117.dmg Kind regards, Michael Palacio
Hey Michael, could you please open a discussion on our support page so we can further investigate this issue? (http://support.gpgtools.org/) You are the first to report this problem. Please provide any additional information possible (http://support.gpgtools.org/kb/faq/how-can-i-generate-debugging-information). Also it would be great to post a link to the support thread on MU so others can chime in, if they experience the issue as well.
Dear GPGTools Project Team:
Yes of course, will do so. I know I should have had channeled (my) the problem at the support page, sorry, but I panicked when I couldn't open Mail and respectfully tried to warn you and other users. Will install again 20111117 that I have (or try to obtain "Bytes'" 2011127) and later upg. again to 20111224 and report. Will try it also on a friend's Lion/Mail 5.1 also to compare.
Kind regards from Argentina and thank you for your prompt support, michaelpalacio AT gmail DOT com
Easy to install/upgrade, the tools package is turning out to be a real nice direction for MacGPG to go in. Since adding Mail.app/Lion support with GPGMail, there is nothing bad to say! Nice work.
A well packaged installer that adds OpenPGP encryption to Mail.app (works great on my 10.7.2 Lion installation). The polish and ease of use, deserves a BIG thumbs up to the authors and I sent them a modest donation to authenticate my praise. Thanks guys!
Not working for me under Lion. I really want it to work, but Mail plug in won't load, and services won't respond. When it does work, it is a great alternative to PGP.
Hi Tom, Lion support is under development at the moment. We have a rather stable alpha version included in the latest GPGTools Installer. Please go over to http://www.gpgtools.org/installer/index.html and give the pre-release a try. Let us know if you encounter any problems.
thank you for pointing it out. We have added your question to our FAQ since you've added it to every single project page. Please have a look at

This (MacGPG2) is effectively a fork from the mainline GPG2 development line. Some of the components play well with the components that have been self-compiled from the mainline sources; others do not - they rely upon the MacGPG2 binaries having been installed where they expect them to have been installed, with all the Mac-specific customizations attendant and available.
I'm not saying this is necessarily a bad thing, just that it goes way beyond a simple GUI interface into the mainline GPG2.
I was once quite a champion of GnuPG for Mac, put up with the massive geek factor and had it working perfectly. But these days GnuPG is broken on Mac OS X 10.6.x. Don't bother playing with it unless you're one of the developers, it's that nasty at the moment. I've attempted many times over the last full year to help the project, saw great hope last spring, only to have hope dashed this winter with a cacophony of developer infighting, endlessly frustrated would-be users, censored list posts, and chaos all round. I have never seen this before and hope I never do again. RUN AWAY from this software for now, until... (all join hands and pray) ...someone sane takes over the project and straightens out the bloody mess. Until then, I wish the project well.
@Dev: Downloads from github didn't work for a couple of hours yesterday (at least at my location). But everything's back to normal again.
At any rate, I had GPGMail and Keychain Access running on 10.6.x with GPG without major problems, before installing the new GPGTools with GPG2. Everything seems to work fine with the new version, Mail integration, Services etc.
So I'm not sure, what Derekcurrie meant with his polemical comment. I think it's an important piece of software, and it's working. Thank you!

Please try the current release. It should fix all your issues.
@Michael: Not sure what you mean. All download-links seem to be working properly. On MU as well as our own homepage.
