AutoCrypt, with a unique approach, using a document based application, lets you save in a document all the settings used to create encrypted archives.
In few words an AutoCrypt document is a collection of setting used to encrypt or decrypt a collection of files. In case the files to encrypt or to decrypt are updated with frequencies, an AutoCrypt document listing this files provides a one click method to frequently encrypt them storing the updated files in a standard place, even using unattended operation. You just have to launch AutoCrypt in the night using a document with the 'Autorun' option turned on. AutoCrypt is the ideal solution to be used as a batch mode encryptor and decryptor, but can also be used as a standard encryption tool.
AutoCrypt is so fast that often encrypting files, you press the 'Encrypt' button and ask yourself why it doesn't work, well .. it works. It simply did it in a flash!
AutoCrypt works basing its actions on simplicity. The job Autocrypt has to perform is stored inside AutoCrypt (.autocrypt) documents . AutoCrypt documents are files containing a list of files to encrypt or decrypt plus other setting. They are used to automatize the work.
When AutoCrypt perform its job it processes a list of file, one by one, read each one, encrypt it and save it in another location appending a .acrypt at the name.
Files encrypted by AutoCrypt end in (.acrypt) and are completely different thing of (.autocrypt) documents They have a different icon then a document and are a completely different thing. This is the ENCRYPTED content saved on disk.
AutoCrypt can also automatize the reverse process, decrypting files to plain files and saving them in another places removing the .acrypt at the end of the name.
