What's New
Version 11.0.6:
Resolved various localization issues
Resolved compatibility issues with some video files exported to PS Vita format
update: did not revert (I recall Toast has this issue with burning many files in past versions). I used Apple Burn on the very same folder/files and it worked just fine.
btw. it was not a media error, it just hangs on 99%. I use the original Verbatim DVD-r and not their cheap lifestyle line either.
"Can you try this pre-release build of an upcoming update, this is a major update and although looks the same has a very different backend and internals.

Toast 11.1 Beta: http://db.tt/8i36EJKs
Note: Ignore the "update" message that appears when you launch it, if you choose to update it will just install the release version instead of letting you use the beta."
Alas, I know not how effective and if any potential issues lurk with this beta. Perhaps others will post.
I downloaded the beta and installed it and tried to burn a DVD from a VIDEO_TS, per my usual.
It went through the normal "Compressing and extracting" routine, then it did something different — it said it was "Preparing …", and that it had 51 seconds to go.
That is where it remained — for 20 minutes. I cancelled and trashed the application and went back to Toast 11.0.4 — which works fine.
This is what I was told by Apple Support regarding the hang I experienced and the reinstallation of version 11.0.4:
1. Quit all applications
2. Unplug LaCie Burner
3. Unplug Main Power cord
4. Wait 10 seconds
5. Press computer main power button for 10 seconds
This will reset all connections
6. Plug in computer main power cord
7. Try to burn disc in Apple burner
8. If successful plug in USB for LaCie burner
9. Burn
How long has the bug in this update been unresolved? And here it is still available for download despite the fact that it's garbage? Absolutely unbelievable.
Hangs at 99% bug in versions 11.0.5 and 11.0.6.
Many discussions at Roxio website confirming issue.
Issue disappears when downgrading to v11.0.4.
Updates to 11.0.5 and 11.0.6 seem to come from using in-app update command, and updating from within: couldn't find them when logging into my Roxio account at Support.
Versions 11.0.4 and below available at website though, via your registered login
Just an observation: If there is indeed a 11.0.6 update, and if that update indeed fixes the crashing issue in 11.0.5, but if that update is only available through an in-app update, how can those for him 11.0.5 crashes on launch ever update (given that the last update listed on the Roxio site is 11.0.4)? :)
The full v11.0.4 installer/disk image update can be found at http://softwareupdates.roxio.com/gm/updaters/mac/toast/titanium/v11/toast_11_titanium_1104(709).dmg
Doesn't look like one was ever released for v 11.0.3 (700), however
why doesn't roxio own updating mechanism doesn't detect newer versions of Toast? The Toast self updating has NEVER worked! Come on Roxio, what's the problem? Don't you test this Toast self updating routine on a Mac yourselves?
Um, we're going to need details, because *most* of us don't have this problem with Toast 9. What kind of file are you burning and how? To what media? With what steps?
That is what you need to tell us, or preferably, Roxio via their forums.
WARNING: I bought this (standard, not Pro) yesterday as an upgrade from version 9. The site and the promos say that you get a FREE Blu-Ray plugin with your purchase. You DON'T (at least, there's no obvious way of getting it without paying the extra $20), and Roxio doesn't respond to my support questions regarding this matter.
As for the standard version: it acts and performs exactly like v9 - only the icon and some colors are different.
I also purchased the upgrade by download and did not get the FREE Hd/BluRay plugin. I contacted Roxio who referred me to Digital River with a telephone number. After holding for 30 minutes, I hung up. A waste of money as Version 9 does mainly the same as this new version. Makes me very disappointed and frustrated.
Might depend on what discs you're using. Memorex came out with some screwed up discs that are media code "CCMG." and there isn't even any info on videohelp.com about that media code. Every one of them failed I took them back twice. Damndest thing is, the first pack I bought of the same brand off the same shelf with identical packaging were Ritek media code and all 50 burned without a hitch. But that is with 9.02 so maybe it is Toast this time causing your issue.
I can't believe they have released such a buggy version of this software. It crashes often and it appears to have a conflict with iTunes. I may have to go back to version 8, so sad :(
I'm having the same problem with TT 9 crashing with certain burns, whereas 8 doesn't. I got used to keeping an older version of Toast around as the newer version tend to be picky and bug-ridden. Toast is still a very good product but it's rather disgusting how they churn out new 'big' version so they can charge you again and again and again...
Using Toast 8.01 with OSX 10.4.11, get a prompt from Toast asking if I want to upgrade to 8.03. I answer "yes" and get shunted to Roxio's site. Get a prompt for "completing" my profile, which I was unable to complete LAST YEAR, do to website issues. I try to complete my profile, but am unable to include my country code using any browser that I have and therefore again, cannot complete my profile.
I decide to just go ahead and use Toast 8.01, but in the process of verifying a CD image, everything on my system slows and the fans on my G5 single start running like a jet engine. With patience (and probably some luck) I managed to ride through the problem, but still have to work with Toast 8.01 as I am unable to get the update to 8.03.
What did I do? I downloaded LiquidCD here at MacUpdate and burned the CD image.

Toast hangs while ntfs-3g CPU usage skyrockets.
Unmounting ntfs drives seems to solve the issue, still a bummer.
Anyone had a similar experience?
