Papapapaya is the new and effective way to learn vocabulary.
Just like your brain, Papapapaya organizes your words in different memory levels instead of files and folders. This makes it easy to see what words you already know well and what you need to rehearse again.
Papapapaya's intelligent Quiz will always ask you the words that are best to be rehearsed at the very moment.
Moreover Papapapaya comes with basic thematic vocabularies for French, German and English with over 600 words each.
Papapapaya also has a free iPhone companion app so you
Any chance that a future update could include the option to add extra characteristics for word entries (i.e. pronunciation, synonyms)? Also, would it be possible to create quizzes that test only some and alternately all of the different attributes? Thanks!
Hi,
you can add pronunciation as a comment that will be displayed in the quiz as well. Version 1.2 (that will be released next week) will also include an option to control weather comments are displayed together with the question or with the solution.
You can also add (multiple) tags to your words to assign topics or word form information. When you start a quiz you can then limit the quiz to certain tags. For example you could have Papapapaya just ask you for words with the tag "verb" or "cooking"
We are working on intelligent support for synonyms, too, including an option to show all synonyms. It will follow soon but I can't promise any date, yet.

I'm using this for about a week now to rehearse my french vocabulary and IMHO it is the best vocabulary trainer on the Mac. I was using Que before because it is free but it has limited features.
Papapapaya has everything I wanted:
- the Quiz really works well and I feel I can really learn better when following the recommended rehearsing intervals
- the Statistics are well done
- I like the automatic sorting in difficulty levels. that's more useful than sorting in folders since you can easily see which words you know well and which not
- its very easy to use (I found especially Provoc very confusing)
- I could import my existing words from Que
Only I would like to have more control over the words marked as "Don't ask again". Maybe a separate column for that? But as this is still version 1.0.1 I'm optimistic about future updates...
We're happy to hear that you like Papapapaya.
With the new version 1.1 you can now hide or show the "Don't Ask Again"-words. We hope this suits your needs.
