Google Reader Snow Leopard is designed for users of Google Reader, a free web based RSS reader if you have a Google account, which can be found here: www.google.com/reader
With Google Reader you can keep up to date with the latest news through RSS feeds which can be found on most any website these days.
This extension is made to give Google Reader a totally different look to make it fit in with common Snow Leopard applications.
Google Reader Snow Leopard... Originally ported from Google Reader: Mac OS X Snow Leopard and Google Reader: Mac OS X Snow Leopard +
What's New
Version 1.7:
[Fix] Mail button fix for Google+ users.
[Fix] Added Sites button for Google Apps users
[Fix] Hopefully added the groups button for Google Apps users, can't verify this.
Really nice facelift for Google Reader. I reported to the developer a couple months ago an issue with the refresh button - if you click the account button (for multiple Google accounts) and then click the refresh button, it acts like the accounts button and not the refresh button. In fact, the whole tool bar above the refresh button and to the right (to the accounts button) has this problem.
I have no problem with the way Google Reader looks WITHOUT this extension, but I'm not going to give this a low rating because of that. In face I'm not going to give it a rating at all. If you want to see this developer's vision of what Google Reader should look like, give this thing a try. As for me, I'm dumping it.
Although I didn't find this extension useful, another of this developers extensions is VERY useful to me. Go to the developer's site and scroll down to "Better Google Reader". It color-codes the different news sources. If, like me, you get feeds from a large variety of sources, this extension can make some sense of the mess.
OK...color me stupid, but I've installed this from the Apple Extensions page for Safari. I have the button displayed that shows the number of unread items I have in Google Reader, but when I click on the button it just launches Google Reader...not the interface shown above on this page.
My bust...I had inadvertently clicked on the "Install Now" button for the extension just below this in the Extensions Gallery. However, even now that I have the correct extension installed, I don't see any buttons for it in Safari. How do I get the interface to activate?
Disregard all comments...my excuse is I haven't had enough coffee yet this morning Didn't realize I simply had to go to Google Reader to see the new interface...duh.
The requirements are incorrect, this works perfectly fine in Leopard too with Safari 5. Great extension by the way, really spices up the look of Google Reader. Very clean interface.
You're right, I'm sorry I didn't think about explaining google reader instead of just the extension.

I also fixed one or two parts that were no longer working since a few reader updates have been released since the last updates to the userscripts, and made some modifications of my own.

Install this baby and then go to Goodle Reader. WOW! This make Google Reader gorgeous and really fun to use.
Hats off to the programmer. This does for Google Reader what InstaPaper Greystyled does for InstaPaper, and then some.
Thanks so much!
