— Needs playback controls in fullscreen mode
— Needs switchable playlists without having to type in the search field or relaunch the app

Maybe all that is available in the full version, but how am I supposed to know that without paying for the app first? Can't buy a product without knowing about it's capabilities.

Hi Mark,
the demo is identical to the full version except for the "reminder" box. It's that simple.

Flavio, so the Preferences menu is inaccessible in the full version too?

Yes, that's a small glitch I'll have to sort out. There are actually no preferences at all. That's my design philosophy :)

Flavio, ah, I see. Thanks for the reply.

But in any case, even though I really like your app, but due to lack of the aforementioned features (playback controls in fullscreen and the playlist thingy), I can't buy it. Otherwise it would be a downgrade from MacTubes for me.

I hope you will, at least, consider doing those. But until then, I'm stuck with stupid ugly MacTubes. :(

On Lion, now you have access to playback controls by moving the mouse to the top of the screen.

This is a superb lightweight YouTube client. i love that it doesn't use Adobe Flash.

the interface is very Mac-like. It behaves as you'd expect e.g. press the space bar to pause and play.

If you crave to see the comments, you can right click on a playing video, select the appropriate option and the YouTube webpage will open (and the Minitube client will pause playback)

Well, I guess it is unfair to give a halfstar on the basis that Linux version is free. It is a complex matter, if you're really interested come discuss it on my blog.

Mactubes is just different, if you took the time to the test the app you would know.

To falvio - I think this has to be a troll. He gave Many Tricks' Usher a low rating, and that is kick-ass fantastic.

Türkçe destek görmek güzel. 10.6.2 üzerinde de sorunsuz çalýþýyor. Lakin, arama sonrasýnda otomatik olarak ilk parçayý çalmasý ve referans ayarlarýna eriþememe durumu var.

This is simply an awesome tool.

The flash player plugin eats up 80% of cpu in my macbook pro.

This tool only uses 20-25% of cpu.

Really genius.

I like this application and use it a lot,

I would suggest some features:
browse author's videos
deleting bad keywords or history
Access informations at any time
Scroll in the video?
shortcut to put the next video to watch, or something to create a playlist…

The only con is the quicktime cache folder.
Use Minitube 1 hour and you get a >700MB large QT cache folder ;(

thanks for this freeware.

Not bad at all. Plays videos with much lower CPU usage than Flash in a browser. What it could really use is the ability to access subscriptions and to browse a user's videos and playlists. As it stands, multi-part videos are difficult to access because searching won't necessarily bring all the parts up in order.
