I have downloaded and tried all the budgeting apps listed here. This one catches my interest because it is based on a calendar. It's this simplistic take on budgeting that makes it appealing for me. Yes it is missing a lot a features from other programs, but take it for what it is, a change in the way you see your finances, in that of a familiar calendar concept. For me it just works!

cheers

Suggest the developer has a look back at Lotus Improv (available back then on NeXT) and the modern day equivalent Quantrix Modeler. Maybe this will give him food for thought on increasing the funtionality. Horizon is just too limited at the moment...

So this is essentially a spreadsheet?

It will be interesting to see what sort of patent they manage to get accepted.

I'm sorry, why would you pay $29.95 for an app with hardly any functionality when you could pay $10 more and get a decent finance app that does it all?

Sorry to hear that you're having problems. Have you checked out the screencasts at http://www.lucernesys.com/screencasts/screencasts.html ? They're the best demos of how the program works.

Sounds interesting, but there is already a Mac application called Horizon, so the choice of name is not good.

I attempted to give Horizon a try and downloaded the demo.
I know I am sometimes very dense, but I can't figure out how to even get started with this app. Getting started in Help shows no result.
How to enter a balance, enter pmts, deposits, etc are not intuitive for me. I am undoubtedly missing the concept or something.

Has the app been abandoned? There seems to be no way to access online payment, either through the esellerate interface or at the website.

I agree, even though there has been an update recently... not much was really updated. When are we going to see a true upgrade? Horizon 1.5? I like the app and concept very much so really hope this apps still has air to breath.
