With ShelfMenu, you can store all sort of information and have it accessible with a couple of mouse clicks or keyboard shortcuts. The information is stored without any losses, and you can always restore it for further use.
The main idea is: "If you can copy it, you can store it in ShelfMenu"
ShelfMenu accepts input from the following sources:
The system clipboard: whatever you have copied, can be stored in ShelfMenu. When you need the information again, you will be able to restore it on the system clipboard.
The current selection: you do not need
What's New
Version 2.0.1:
New feature: it is now possible to delete a snippet directly from the menu.
This coming week, I will be giving away five (5) free copies of ShelfMenu. Follow @taglia on twitter and you will find roughly a tweet per day with a promo-code, redeemable on the Mac App Store.
Unfortunately it appears to be only available through the AppStore without a trial. Based on the post history, it's been five years since the last time this was updated. People will be cautious if it's not possible to try before you buy.
Thank you for your comment. Just to rectify, a trial is available on OSOMac website (you can download it using the download button here on MacUpdate), and I do invite everybody to try before buying! The trial has been available since before the app was for sale on the Mac App Store.
Hi,
That's good, I didn't spot it when I had a quick look at the website. I think it's a wise move, given the gap between version 2 and the previous one. A shame you don't sell it on your website as well, but I can understand the reason due to the price. Thanks.
IMPORTANT WARNING (from the developer)! Relevant if you are still using ShelfMenu 1
The data structure of ShelfMenu has been completely redesigned to take full advantage of Core Data (better performance and robustness). If you have information stored in ShelfMenu 1, it will not be visible from ShelfMenu 2.
Good app, it reminds me of iclip, which my trial ran out ages ago and i've been looking for an alternative for ages, i think i've found it in shelf menu. Yes, it could have some improvements, There could be warnings before you empty the drawers, you could also have visable draws there to highlight things then just drag and drop. Otherwise, great little app.
well we can't fault the dev for trying! as soon as potential issues are raised (see posts below) he spends a sleepless night and fixes the app! great little soft and free to boot - who am i to complain :)
I'd very much like to keep ShelfMenu in my menu bar except that I can't stand the icon -- trivial perhaps, but consider that its visibility is 100% permanent. I'd like to see a choice for Apple's minimalist style of icons that are solid black/white, thick lines and/or fills -- the grey representing an altered state. I think I'll try my hand at going into the MenuIcon.gif file, if you won't mind.
Well, to be honest, I do not like it either... It is the first thing I found which was not too bad, and I'm definitely not an artist. I'll try to find something better, promise, but I first wanted to include some more functionalities.
Anyway, if you want to change the icon just change the file MenuIcon.gif in the Resource folder of the bundle. One thing only: the file must have the same name and be a gif. And if you have a good one and want to send it over, I'd be glad to replace the awful gray thing!
Good little app, but the interface needs work. The "configure drawers" window should allow drag-and-drop of items instead of the awkward up and down buttons, and there's no reason for the "close" button beneath the text box.
Also, the "empty drawer" menu item should confirm when selected, as it's potentially destructive. Finally, having to go into another menu to copy an item to the clipboard is kind of unwieldy; it seems to me that selecting an item should copy it.
Finally, the "copied object" used for images is practically useless if there's more than an item or two in the menu.

ShelfMenu accepts input from the following sources:
The system clipboard: whatever you have copied, can be stored in ShelfMenu. When you need the information again, you will be able to restore it on the system clipboard.
The current selection: you do not need to copy, in most applications you can simply select what you want to store, and send it directly to ShelfMenu.
Text notes: ShelfMenu allows you to quickly enter a text note and store it in the Inbox for further processing.
The information can be stored in folders, quickly accessible from the system menu bar.
ShelfMenu offers an Organizer to sort and organize the information as you want. The generic workflow is to send all snippets of information to the Inbox, and then rename them and sort them in folders.
IMPORTANT
The data structure of version 2.0.0 is not compatible with ShelfMenu 1. If you upgrade, the old data will not be visible. Please contact the support for help with this.
In the trial version (that you can download from here) the data will not be saved!
The full version will be available soon on the Mac App Store

Your comment are very interesting and I'll try to release a new version addressing all of them next week.
