TinyAlarm is a tiny alarm clock for your menu bar. It will play your chosen sound at some time in the near future. All of the configuration is done using the status menu item. Clicking around should reveal just about everything there is to know about Tiny Alarm.
TinyAlarm is good for when you're gaming or programming, but still have to get to class. It will also help you avoid missing your bus, or burning your pizza, or showing up late for meetings.
What's New
Version 1.4.4:
[Fixed] select all, cut, copy, paste now works in Registation Dialog
[Fixed] Added access to the iMovie sound effects (on every Mac) for alarms.
As a practitioner of the Pomodoro technique, I've always have a timer running through the day. This little app is perfect for it: simple, unobtrusive, quick, and easy.
I use the free program Alarm Clock 2, and it plays MP3 songs to wake you up as well as the alarm. It also wakes-up from sleep when you need it to work.
I'd love to see a visual alert feature instead of just sounds (no pun intended). I would completely miss the alarm if I had turned my sound down for some reason. Growl integration would be ideal, but even just a popup window would be great.
Switched from this to "Pester" because of bugs. However, "Pester" ends up in the dock with a tiny digital countdown clock icon. TinyAlarm ends up in the menu bar, out of the way, with little analog clock icon that I find easier to read. Now, with the bug fixes, "snooze" and user sounds it is again my favorite.
Its is nice little app for short term alarms and is much preferable to clogging up Entourage or iCal with this stuff. Excellent.
Pretty sweet little app. Throw in some Growl support that supports a short custom text message and it'll be perfect.

Nice, simple app which does exactly what it says it will, seamlessly. It's raison d'etre is that it is discrete; sitting in the menubar. Yup, there are more dynamic alarms but these, to my knowledge, sit in the Dock or on the desktop, e.g. Minuteur (which is great). It really is a question of intent.
