After loading rev. C patch, I'm also getting a message to "Insert original disk" even though it IS inserted. The patch may have fixed one problem, but it has certainly created another.

I just bought the Sims 2 yesterday afternoon and I can't even play it, how lame. I installed this patch (as well as the others Rev A and B), with multiple re-installations (in different locations) all to get a prompt to insert the original disc. Only problem is the disk IS inserted and running. I am running it with BOTH my Powerbook G4 and PowerMac G5, and still getting the same message. Bloody hell!

Wow, Aspyr works really hard to create updates for software! A whole 5 improvements? I am already too addicted to Second Life anyways now to even go back to Sims.

Game still crashes at moments when it really shouldn't (ie no custom content being used, only one sim in the house at the time, just spontaneously crashes). I've been irritated with this low quality unstable port since it was first released, and this most recent patch doesn't appear to address the problems I've encountered on my G5.

When I try to run this patch, it tells me that I don't have permission to modify Applications. I am the admin account on this Mac. It doesn't ask for a password, it just stops you dead. So this is useless.

Way to go, Aspyr. Little testing next time?

Idiotic download system. Forces you to either navigate a web site, or view ads and stuff cookies down your system's throat.

See if I ever buy anything from Aspyr in the future. That and the "Copy Protected For Your Protection" smarm. Please. Go choke on your tongue, Aspyr.

The Sims 2 is a Copy-Protected DVD. This means you can't make a backup, and have to put wear & tear on the original disk. Aspyr has said if your Sims 2 disk becomes damaged, you must buy a new one.

Take care with it then. Most DVDs can last far longer than you'd need them to, so as long as you look after the disk it'll be fine.

You only need the DVD to start the game up. Once you're in you can eject the DVD. That will decrease any chance of wear and tear on the DVD.

As for the update, I doubt with all the socialists such has Hillary Clinton we will ever see the nude patch fixed.

Both responses to this comment are irrelevant. It does not matter if the DVD will last a long time on the average. It does not matter if you only need to pull it out of the box for a few seconds. The point is that no company should restrict the usage of something -you- purchased, on the "pretext" of stopping "piracy." They are never going to stop piracy. These "pretexts" only make you pull the damn DVD out of the box every time you play, and expose an expensive, fragile key to hazard. Meanwhile, the unauthorized users just start up the game without needing any media at all.

Added italian language game support? Alright, well I am from Holland.. I'd like to play this in Dutch. How do we even PLAY the game in another language than English? Holding down the L while starting up doesn't seem to work, it only worked for the sims 1...

Any one?
