One word: ASTONISHING!
This pearl is indispensable. Finally, I repeat, finally someone makes a file transfer application for computer-to-computer (LAN) transfers that actually works. I can't believe why Apple didn't streamline such a trivial task to be as simple as it is with Schick...
Again, I'm so glad that you made this, Wurst-Wasser!! It may sound like I'm over-exaggerating here, but now I now I'm saved from tearing any more hair from my already half-balded head.
There is but one (very minor) thing that I'm wondering about. Is it possible to set it up so that I don't have to have the application up and running on both computers in order to send files? I guess this isn't doable unless there is a daemon for it, which might be too cumbersome to create.
What I'd like to propose is, that you might consider adding the option not to show (hide) the Dock icon (I'm not a big fan of having lots of things in the Dock jumping around ;), and additionally make the Bezel have an 'Ok' button on it and have it show up forever, until acknowledged by clicking ok button (like for instance the Bezel for incoming calls in Skype, etc.). Maybe Growl support would be something to look into.
Just some suggestions...
But all in all. This is a very neat little app that really WORKS. It's a permanent keeper for sure.
I tried DropCopy for the same tasks, but it often didn't work and it forced me to compress some files as .zip's before sending. Now, Schick takes the lead in the Mac LAN-file transfering competition. Nothing compares to this.
