Beware. I cannot export any of my data using of the built-in format options. I have e-mailed the developer twice in the past year and have never heard back from him.

All of my data (thousands of records) are stuck in Wallet because none of the export options work. This may not happen to you, but if a problem does come up, don't expect to get it handled.

Wallet is awesome! In fact, i just used the "Autofill With Wallet" function of the safari extension to login to macupdate just now, on my new iMac running lion. I'm quite impressed of how often it seems to "just work" actually. In my experience, it also offers to save the login information most (if not all) of the time, when a website haven't yet been added to wallets database.
The developer just released an update to support Lion, which shows Wallet is still in active development. In fact, it's updated quite regularly it would seem. Not so often it's irritating, but often enough for bugs to be ironed out, and to show it's still in business :)
I have it synched to my iPhone, also running wallet, which has saved me a couple of times, when i needed access to a few sites that are password protected, on the go.
Wallet has a perfectly passable application icon, and the UI in general is quite well put together IMHO. Good work mr developer :) Looks is important, at least to me!
Last, but not least, this is one of the very few applications that offer a trial/demo of the application, before buying it from the MAS. Very nice IMHO! I wish more developers did that.
Perhaps the developer doesn't answer support emails, i wouldn't really know, because i haven't yet had the pleasure of sending him/her/them a support request. So i can't help you there, i'm afraid!
In short, if you can be without firefox integration, and looking for something cheaper than 1password, wallet is certainly worth a try IMHO.

Oh dear! I'm a Firefox user, and Wallet appears to be compatible with only Safari and Google Chrome. I don't use Safari, because its tab settings are limited; and I haven't tried Google Chrome. Maybe I should. Firefox is a very popular browser, so the developer really ought to include it.

Doesn't ask to save passwords when I enter them on websites. Tried both in Safari and Chrome (extensions installed). Too bad. I wanted to replace 1Password so badly. And thank god I tried the trial version first. Would be a disappointment if I bought it.

Ongoing SYNC issues: I am a long term user of Wallet desktop & iphone. Very nice interface on both but ... Iphone version hasn't been syncing properly for a no. of versions now (currently on ver 2.1.1). Records added or amended on iPhone app DON'T sync across to desktop. The Desktop version (currently on ver 3.2.3) always overwrites the iPhone database, rendering the iPhone useless except for carrying your info. All records&amendments have to be done from the desktop. Developer wasn't much help and has now gone AWOL. So echoes of previous reviews: nice interface but buggy sync and NO SUPPORT. Pity since nice design otherwise.

Not that it helps you, but in my case 3.2.3 (updated from a 3.1.X binary) works very well. You may try uninstalling it with one of those "apptrasher" utilities here on macupdate, so that old cruft or possibly faulty configuration/cache files belonging to Wallet are trashed as well, and try installing and updating again.

Wallet has been upgrade to v. 3.2.1 now, but released exclusively on the mac app store :(
However, the good news is you can update it from "inside" the application still. Appstore bought or not. :)

Not as of today. Checking for updates, Wallet tells me 3.2.1 is the newest version. At school, it prompts me to update, then hangs at 98% complete.
I've also Emailed a couple of times with sync issues on Mobil Me and recently on Dropbox and never gotten a reply from the developer.

I used the in-app upgrade and it told me 3.2.2 available, downloaded and pressed relaunch nothing but crash crash crash. now will not launch at all. Emailed devs on 9th but nothing. Going to find alternative product where they give a damn ! probably too busy spending the money from the crApp store in the pub

I like this much more than 1Password because it has an elegant interface which lacks the garish graphics that really turn me off to 1Password. However, syncing with the iPhone app simply doesn't work at all and there seems to be no support or interest from the developer to fix this problem.

The developer is wasting a great opportunity to compete with 1Password by neglecting this application and not keeping up with OS changes. There have been no updates in a while and a growing body of unhappy customers. Such a waste since 1Password has proven there is a big market for this type of application.

I'm giving 3 stars due to broken syncing and an awol developer.

I totally agree about the elegant interface aspect. It's definitely better, imo.
The syncing I've had no issues with, very transparent. So maybe it's some setting problem?

Is Wallet 3 solid now? I note there was a previous report of it corrupting its own files.

I have just gone through this 3 times now. The last being with Caboodle.

It is a huge time waste having to reconstruct very large collections of registration details and there is always the element of uncertainty that you have got everything.

We haven't seen any reports of corrupted data since before version 3.0, which came out in December 2008.
There are currently no troubleshooting comments. If you are experiencing a problem with this app, please post a comment.
