1.1.2
15 October 2002

Get HTML color values from hex colors.

Overview

HTMLColorPickerX re-introduces the much-missed HTML Color Picker allowing users to specify HTML colors in hex and to snap the sliders to web-safe colors.

All Cocoa applications (e.g. Mail, TextEdit, OmniWeb, Stone Create) can use HTMLColorPickerX. With Jaguar (Mac OS X 10.2), most Carbon applications (e.g. AppleWorks, GraphicConverter, etc.) can also use HTMLColorPickerX.

What's new in HTMLColorPickerX

Version 1.1.2 adds the following:
  • Proper Spanish localization (thanks to Juan Ignacio Lizalde)
  • Proper German localization (thanks to Peter Lang)

Be careful with this, it is no longer made or supported and it is not accurate. I have used this color picker in Adobe Photoshop and the colors are of by a couple of values. If you select a web safe color using it, and then use Photoshop's eye dropper to get information on the color values, you will see that colors such as CC0000 have mushed into CE0000

Thanks for the heads-up.. It looks like a good bit of this is already built into Panther anyway. 'Web Safe' and 'RGB' (that can accept hex values).
