Brilliant! I felt I needed a 68 foot mouse mat before. Setting MouseZoom X halfway, has now put the System Settings slider 2 notches back, which looks about right for the Tracking Speed I want.
High Sierra 10.13.6
I just purchased the new Apple Magic Mouse and like many others, found that the tracking speed was terribly slow, even with the mouse tracking speed set to maximum. I tried the trick of bumping up the default tracking speed via the Terminal, and while that helped some, it really didn't do the trick, but MouseZoom did! Thanks for a great little utility that does exactly what it's supposed to do and fixes a piece of hardware Apple should never have released with its software not working properly.
I appreciate what you have done so much, but this software seems not to work for me. I just receive "preferences error" when I click it. I use a MBP with OSX 10.4.7, build 8j2135a
Hope you could fix this. Thanks a million!
I need MouseZoom for my Intel iMac right now, the slowness is driving me crazy, please !!! :-)
This grandma mouse is driving me crazy, I can't believe mac osx is such a good system and something so obviously painfull for the user as mouse speed has been left out !!!
I need a helmet and airbags now!!!
What an incredible difference!!
I am using a new Aluminium Powerbook, 2Ghz Ram, lots of "speeders" for the system, apps, interfaces, windows, etc, and this was the solely missing piece of software.
I use it with a bluetooth MacMice's The Mouse BT (another beauty!).
mouseZoom certainly improve's the speed of your cursor - as fast as you like. But the speed of the cursor isn't the problem that people have been moaning about. It's the acceleration properties. when you slow your hand down to deal with detailed graphical tasks, it decelerates dramatically. Thus it gives the cursor jittery qualities, and constantly forces your brain to re-adjust it's hand to eye co-ordination.
MouseZoom works fantastically, giving a huge range of cursor speed, but we need something to deal with the lag, and i had hoped mouseZoom was going to deal with this. I love os X but this thing is making the production of artwork infuriating.
