Functional on-screen keyboard.

Overview

TouchStrokes provides a fully-functional on-screen keyboard that works seamlessly with all standard Mac OS 9 and Mac OS X applications and is ideal for use with touchscreen, tablets and for server management. It automatically adjusts to US and international keyboard layouts and has multiple resizable keyboard models. It handles command-key combinations, dead-keys, and modifier key - click combinations. It offers a quick access toolbar and has many customizable settings.

What's new in TouchStrokes

Version 1.5.6 improves the touch screen experience. Modifier keys (such as shift and option) are now immediately activated even before the mouse or finger is released. It also fixes a file permission issue that prevented operation from another account than the one the software was installed from.

I've looked at every virtual keyboard program out there. In terms of price, performance, and customer service, TouchStrokes is the very best. It's stable. Having tried some other programs that literally forced me into a system reinstall, I think that's pretty important. It also provides a nice range of keyboard options. (I like the "Block" style, which I haven't seen in any other program.), It responds well when I type with it. The developer is responsive to help requests. Yes, Apple provides a built-in keyboard, but it doesn't perform as well as this and is much more limited in its options. TouchStrokes is well worth the money.

It's a pity this never made it out of PPC. It's big brother is way too expensive for me.
