Desktop launcher utility.

Overview

DragStrip is a full-featured "launcher" application that allows users unlimited flexibility in organizing and accessing frequently used files and applications. It helps to eliminate desktop clutter and repeated searches in disks, folders, and on the Internet, by placing drag-and-drop modifiable palettes on the desktop. A palette can easily handle a user's files, folders, applications, and URLs all in one location.

Here's a LAUNCHER 101 class for those of you who don't seem to realize that DragStrip is NOT a ripoff of James Thomson's DragThing (it would be nice if he would add something here, but he only stands to benefit by not commenting). DragStrip began its life as SHAREWARE, and good, CLASSIC shareware at that. After ALLUME (Aladdin in those days) purchased it, things went downhill. Aladdin/Allume ceased improving on it and attempted to use it as one of their 'cash cows'. James Thompson continued improving DragThing until it is as you see it today -- the unchallenged, reigning champion of Mac launchers. Back then, James had some competition on his hands, and most likely still would, had Aladdin not purchased DragThing and made a mockery of it. Read your Mac software history books before making your ripoff and other claims, people.

I might also add that DragStrip stood a good chance at competing with DragThing, had Aladdin, once it had bought the app, continued to develop and add more features to it. I do not question your comparison with DragThing, as a result of Aladdin's lack of development effort with it.

A shameless ripoff of James Thomson's Dragthing, even the name is a ripoff. Not even a complete ripoff, about half the features of Dragthing, and an inconcievable ammount less worth. Not even as clean of an interface, just complete crap.

You are extremely ill-informed. DragStrip has been around for YEARS. I believe even James Thomson would chastise you for making a statement such as that. DragStrip began its life as SHAREWARE, for your information. Please, consult your Mac software history book before going off on useless diatribes.

The only good features it has are those stolen from DragThing, sure it's $9 cheaper, but it's worth nothing in comparison to DragThing

This is a crappy rip-off of James Thomson's DragThing. Do yourself a favor and visit dragthing.com
