This is the best idea-organizing tool I've ever seen for Mac OS X! Edit and organize your ideas and simply drag'n'drop the collection to Mail/TextEdit. If this is Ver. 0.2 then I cannot wait for Ver. 1.0!

I created a NEW 2015 version of Idea Knot that is NOW AVAILABLE in the Mac App Store on your Mac. Search for it there. Just type "idea knot" in the search box in the store. =) — Hugo… Stockholm, Sweden. September 2015.
P.S. Spread the word!

FOR MACUPDATE ADMIN. I have worked with this app seamlessly for over 6 years, but it looks like Stayatplay have finally packed their tents and gone. The developers website was parked on the 10th September 2010. A great shame, look at the stars it was once awarded. Had the developers made this shareware or donationware instead of freeware, Idea Knot would probably be still available. If your out there guys, thanks for a great application that served many, many writers well over the years.

I keep my files in the hope I can some day read them again.

Should I open my old white Mac PC?

Read comment above from 2015. — Hugo. Sweden.
P.S. … YES, it DOES read all your old files.

A wonderful program. Just the right interface that is not cluttered or has functions that a writer does not need. I liked the idea that the sections are separate until you click "combined". That is great.

I do like idea knot, especially as it's free. Although if looking for a more polished idea / note keeper then try iOrganize X as that has more features and the option to include graphics.

I can think of several ways to use this handy ap. I am a list person, and always have all kinds of lists going. Suggestion: Include the aqua version as a premade download. Thank you for making this freeware!

I'm with "scientist" here: in my view, this is probably the smartest notepad/idea organizer/brainstorming app/text snippets collector you can find. Don't be fooled by its seeming simplicity - it's a very powerful and flexible tool for text jugglers. Be sure to check out the tips section on their website to learn about some of its not-so-obvious features. Integrates nicely with OS X, with very smart support for drag&drop and services. For a 0.3 release, Idea Knot is surprisingly useful and reliable. The interface could use a little polish, and it would be nice to have at least some basic preference options, but I'm sure these features will be added over time. Thanks to the developers for this great freebie!

After playing with release 0.3 for about 5 minutes: This is a two-level browser for scraps of text. Text scraps have a title and belong to one or more groups, including an "always" group. You can drag and drop text to and from other applications. I am not impressed, but in certain situations this may be just what you need.
