It brought down my system also. I could not boot up with OS9 or OSX and had to take my eMac and pay $95 to get it booted up; then they could not startup with OS9 because it was corrupted.. (Version: 1.6.1)

The damn thing brought down my system because "charpalette" refused to let it restart. So I couldn't force quit neither the Finder or Suitcase. I did a force-restart, held option down, and had a choice to boot into 9 or into my X on the external drive. After choosing 9, my mouse went on steroids. So instead of booting back into X, I decided to boot with the DVD and run Disk Utility. Everything seemed fine until I rebooted... then I crashed at the grey screen! Needless to say, I cursed the author and trashed CSD!
