Virtual Boy emulator.

Overview

ViBE emulates the Nintendo Virtual Boy, a 3D Headset console released by Nintendo in the early 1990s. At the time of writing, ViBE is the only Virtual Boy emulator for any platform to support sound.

ViBE is available exclusively for Mac OS X. It's nice for the shoe to be on the other foot for once.

What's new in ViBE

Version 1.0b12:
  • Support the so-called final release of Bound High.
  • I've also added support for rendering one eye only for those who wish to play without using 3D glasses.

Seriously, there's a reason why Virtual Boy bombed in 1995: It had no good games. None. Not even the Mario games could save it. And now we have an emulator that can play these below average, red and black-colored games, and you have to ask: What's the point? Well, maybe the ability to play the games without your aching neck looking into the headset... as for the emulator itself, it's still buggy and can't play many of the scant few games. Skip it.
