Meet Focus Firewall – a distraction blocker app for Mac.

During your 9 to 5, distracting websites get blocked. Once it's set up, you don't have to think too much about it, it works mostly on autopilot.

Coworker sent a link and you really want to watch? Hit pause. It's totally okay to slack for a bit – as long as you don't get dragged into watching a second and a third video offered by the sneaky recommendation systems.

Compared to Screen Time and stricter blockers, this is more of a passive approach. You don't have to spend mental energy deciding time budgets per app. The app works on the background and adds an extra step between you and a distraction, which ends up being just enough friction to reduce your usage a little bit every day.
