LockRattler overview
LockRattler is a simple and free app that checks some of the more important protection systems out. Decompress it, drop it into your Applications folder, run it, and click on its single button. It will then tell you the result of eight checks on those security systems:
- whether SIP is enabled
- whether XProtect assessments are enabled
- the version numbers of your current data files for XProtect, Gatekeeper, Gatekeeper Disk checks, Kernel extension blocking, and Apple’s Malware Removal Tool (MRT)
- and finally whether you have FileVault disk encryption active.
What’s new in version 4.35
- The currently installed version of XProtect Remediator is now displayed after that of XProtect, at the upper left. The last update shown in red to the right of that is the more recent of the two, XProtect data files and the Remediator app. The Remediator version is also written to the app’s text report.

Simple + Great = Simply Great. An essential utility, updated in a timely fashion, and one of the most helpful devs there is.

Great app, as well as its sibling SilentKnight.
Note that although those apps run in 10.11, the OS won't update any more Xprotect and MRT! (and those "available updates" won't show in LockRattler)
The (relatively) good news is that the ones you'll download in 10.14 (MRTConfigData_10_14.pkg and XProtectPlistConfigData_10_14.pkg are the same and you can update them manually in 10.11 but there's no direct link — that's where this app is useful. ;-)
As another user observed in the comments on the dev's site: "the 10_15 pkgs are currently for Catalina and Big Sur."
