Remap Keyboard overview

Remap Keyboard lets you modify your macOS keyboard layout by changing the behavior of each key to work like another. You can apply mapping to all your keyboards or just the selected keyboard (e.g. only the built-in keyboard on your MacBook or an USB keyboard). All changes are applied at an OS level which means they work as intended everywhere including full screen games without consuming any extra resources (CPU or Memory). The easy to use GUI lets you quickly change keys rather than relying on tedious scripts and all changes are re-applied when your system reboots.

So simple, so easy. Worth the $6.99 (not $4.99). The esc key is now § and § is now esc. My life is immediately better. I've faffed around with all sorts of ways to reliably remap the esc key off the touch bar on my 2017 Macbook Pro 13". I tried Karabiner but I screwed something up so badly I had to go to Apple for support. Accidentally brushing the escape key with my little finger has deleted many an hour's work. "Aaargh" I cry a little, I curse, then I start over again. My fingers are just way too long for the 13" and the dinky little space. I wish I'd never opted for the touch bar, but It's easy to fall for gimmicks. This little app took care of the problem so easily. I consider that was $6.99 well spent.
