Vimalin for Fusion overview

Vimalin for Fusion is a backup program for your virtual machines in VMware Fusion.

With Vimalin you can make backups to a local disk or network share. Having backups is important, but making backups manually is easy to forget. Especially as you must shut down your VM when you want to make a backup.

With Vimalin you do not have to shut down your VM, the backup runs while you can continue using your VM. You can schedule backups of your virtual machine. So you will not forget to make them. Backups can be made reliably and all the files in the backup are verified against corruption.

You can get email notifications when the backup completes, or get an email if it failed. Vimalin employs VMware automation, so that you do not have to install anything in your Virtual Machine. As a result, it works for all guest OS types that VMware Fusion supports.

What’s new in version 2.5.432

Version 2.5.432:

The Full Disk Access requirement is more strict as without that entitlement you cannot do anything. It confused some users to think it would work without it.
Fixed a bug where deleting a VM in VMware Fusion while still having it scheduled in Vimalin would cause Vimalin to show a blank line in the home screen for the deleted VM.
There was a parsing bug in the mount logic shown in the backup target screen. This caused some naming schemes to not being able to select as backup target.
Backup Target screen now also supports exFAT as filesystem.
Removing a backup job from the list now also removes it from the list of already scheduled jobs.
Removing a VM will also remove its scheduled jobs.
Tweaked the schedules screen user interface to be more consistent.
