WebBuddy for Mac

WebBuddy is a menu bar app for previewing web links in your favourite apps such as Mail, Twitter, Slack or Notes. By reducing in your main browser and distraction from new browser windows and tabs, it increases productivity on your desktop.

With WebBuddy you can also bring up your favourite websites and search engines with a simple hotkey. Just hit 'Command+Shift+L' to quickly search the internet without looking for a browser window, then hit Esc to go right back to the app you were working in.

It's a great tool to quickly google for something, grab reference information from the web, find a coffee shop nearby, or check out a film your friend just mentioned, without the hassle of finding and switching to a browser window.
