Compress PDF documents to reduce their file size.

Overview

CM PDF Compress (formerly known as CM Shrink My PDFs) is a simple to use yet powerful app which can compress existing PDF documents to reduce their file size. The app uses several special algorithm to reduce the file size by reorganizing the PDF structure, recompress the image files and remove the unnecessary headers from the file while still retaining the File headers to provide a smaller file size for distribution. It supports password protected PDF as long as you have the unlock password. You can set the different compression filters for color, grayscale and black and white contents. It comes with the option to retain the original creation and modification dates of the PDF.

Good PDF compression w/o much loss, and the best drill-down for tons of options (even choosing how to process color, gray, B&W), but the UI is convoluted, and it can't be launched by dragging onto Dock or Finder icon. It's not bad, but I've found better.

Thank you for your comments.

We added the "Dragging onto Dock or Finder Icon" in the latest update. This will automatically start the conversion process using the current settings in the App.

When we build the app, we wanted to provide you with as much control as to how you want the PDFs to be compressed as possible. In doing so, we implemented a three step process, firstly to load, secondly to tweak the compression settings and finally to begin the conversion process.

We are aware of the other available apps which offers a simpler UI but by using the developer defined method of compression. We didn't want our app to be another "me too" product.
