I’m most unimpressed. The weather symbol is always a question mark, and after working for a week the temperature now says 32 even though it’s 91.

Is there a way to get Weatherman to display something other than a QUESTION MARK in the menubar, like say an icon that imparts something about the current conditions? Maybe a sun emoji or a raincloud, or is that beyond this app’s capabilities?

Cannot believe this application doesn't allow to display °C only. Sorry but °F doesn't mean anything to me and is only taking away precious menu bar estate.

As with my previous post, I cannot update to version 2.7.1 on my mac running OS 10.6.8 despite what it says in the description on MacUpdate. I have never received any response from the developer. Dean, are you listening?

I tried to update ver. 2.6..1 to the new 2.7 on my mac running OS 10.6.8 The application was installed in my applications folder but it wouldn't launch. Luckily I had a back-up and restored a functioning ver.2.6.1

Does anyone know if After Ten Software is still in business? My WeatherMan sometimes quits unexpectedly under Yosemite. I have emailed the company with information about the crashes but have not received any answers. I hope it is still being developed. It is the best Menu Bar weather app going, in my opinion.

Weatherman 2.5.2 keeps crashing today. Running it on OS 10.6.8 Sent crash reports to dean@afterten.com. No response. Anyone else having same issues?

Still crashing on my system. Does not seem to prevent display of forecasts, but crashes consistently. Really want the developer to fix this once and for all...

WARNING! Version 2.5.1 does not work... whereas version 2.5.2 does work. I downloaded version 2.5.2 from Software Update today though it still shows in the Mac App Store that it is version 2.5.1. So double-check that it is version 2.5.2 after you download it before trashing your last version of WeatherMan.

Only works with OSX 10.6.5 or below. A download from here (as opposed to the App Store) will not work with 10.6.6 Sigh why are listings often incomplete in this fashion?

WeatherManX no longer works. It does not give forecasts or extended forecasts. These functions ceased to work a while back; it is not because I have upgraded the OS, which is still at x.3.9, and I've been using the latest version of this app. Most troubling is that the author does not answer e-mail anymore, and, while you can still register on the BB on his website, there is no sign of life from Dean. I've tried all the hints and suggestions (essentially erasing and reinstalling and reregistering along with recreating city entries, etc.). I think we have to assume that the author has abandoned the program and his website. It would be foolish to buy this program now, of course. And foolish to buy anything from this author in the future, assuming he uses his own name. A shame, I had become quite fond of the program.

Been using this app for many years... it's pretty dated and could use a major update. But the developer seems to have forgotten about his customer base and moved on.

In this Version, Forecast & Ext. Forecast has no info or images. Conditions seems to be missing info too. I run last build 10.3.9 on a G3B&W

Weather Man and Weather Menu haven't worked for me for over a year. When this started happening, I wrote the developer repeatedly, and heard nothing back. I try every new version in the hopes that it fixes the problem, but it never does. Too bad: back when it was working, it was my favorite of them all. Now I use widgets and Firefox add-ons to get my weather.

SOCKING GREAT! I am sailor and the commodore of a yacht club. I use this unique and friendly software to get all the basics I need to know so I can plan marine events. Its format also allows me to copy the print to our club website. Great software, thanks Dean. Fast tech support too.

This may be a great piece of software but I still suggest you also take a look at Meteorologist before making a purchase decision. It is also a great piece of weather software and it is free. Each product has its own features and drawbacks and the interfaces are different.

To Anonymous: You do realize that you can easily add cities to WeatherManX by clicking either the "Add US" or "Add Intl." buttons in the City Manager, right? How is the developer of this application supposed to make it know where you live before you tell it? Anyway: This is a great app. I cannot believe that it is written in RealBasic, considering how good it is. Handy as heck, friendly, and useful, especially if you plan on doing any long-distance travelling. I use it to check the weather conditions at the various cities I will be driving through when going back and forth between college and home around holidays and such. Much better than navigating slow, cumbersome web sites!

The only city in the cities list is not Muskegon. Was very careful to set the settings properly. So it's either be beamed to Michigan with WMX or be stuck in eternal night with Weatherpop... or, hello Meteorologist, you're saving my sanity.

Thanks for the nice comments. Actually version 1.8b5 has many problems and was not meant for general "public" consumption. MacUpdate sort of "found" it. The final version 1.8 will be out very very soon and be much more stable and reliable. For any further questions direct e-mail me or port a message at my support forum on my web site.

Could be a nice program. Some problems: today June 1, WeathermanX tells me it is June 20, in another window (Images) the date is correct. Set the time to my timezone, but the displayed time is wrong. Outside the US limited possibilitiies and less cities than WeatherPop.

WeatherManX is great software. You need to select New City in File menu if you want some other city than Muskegan Michigan. This is a lot easier than saving several bookmarks for the NWS and Wunderground website to get the latest radar images and loops and more compatible than the Java found on the NWS website. Very nice! Version 1.8b5.

Excellent (and reliable) weather monitor for the menu bar. I used to use WeatherPop, but it screwed up more than occasionally and lately it has remained always way behind in updating...so I switched to WeatherManX. It's much more full-featured as well. Get it!

I have held off for many months from reviewing WeatherMan, but today's the day. I have tried every weather retrieval program to come down the pike for Mac and this one is simply outstanding in all respects. MOST IMPORTANTLY, the support I have gotten from Dean is equally outstanding. Several times I have written Dean with questions and EVERY time he responds quickly and FULLY to every point. This is invaluable, and based upon the cost of the shareware, it's almost incredible. Since you have taken the time to read this, I encourage you to give WeatherMan and/or the Extras a try. You won't be disappointed - this suite of weather applications is a remarkable value. (I am not related or affiliated with Dean or AfterTen Software in any way.) If you would like an example of the support I have gotten, please email a request to me and I will forward my last contact to you.
