Developer website: Pierre Chatelier

Chalk is a calculator that tries to do right what others do wrong. It wants to prove that a "basic" software calculator can be as handy as a real desktop calculator (it's a shame that computers are still so bad as calculators). An non-exhaustive list of features is:

  • Pretty print
  • Complex, quaternions, matrices
  • Arbitrary long integer and floats
  • Uncertainty
  • Primes, basic arithmetic
  • Bit manipulation
  • Grapher with predicates

What's New

Version 1.3.2:
  • Fixed string parsing when a base suffix is involved
  • Fixed explicit uncertainty handling in some cases
  • Do not use superscript any more after the 'e' of scientific notation
  • Change the number of bits to display by the approximation of digits to display
  • Updated third-party libraries

Requirements

  • OS X 10.9 or later
