Try Touch Bar on a Mac which has no physical Touch Bar.

Overview

Touch Bar Demo allows you to use your macOS Touch Bar from an iPad (through USB connection) or on-screen by pressing the Fn-key. It shows the original Apple Touch Bar, which changes dynamically based on the app you're currently using. With this demo app, you can try out the Touch Bar on any Mac that does not have a physical Touch Bar.

Requires a special version of 10.12.1. Click on the version in "About This Mac" to see the build. If it ends in 555 it is the wrong version and must be reinstalled using a link from the developers website.

The new MacBook Pro touchbar context sensitivity is very nice and for those of us not willing to pay the upgrade price for some 5% to 15% speed gain of the new MacBook Pro... enter Touché!

This little gem is just like the touchbar simulator you get in Xcode (if you are a developer). It works with the context sensitivity of a given app (like safari, it tracks my typing for auto-'correct') and while you can't "touch" it, it makes a nice addition to your Mac experience, especially if you have a big screen.

Apple should let this go into the macOS App Store as it taunts you into getting a new Mac ...
