This works well and as described. It is a standalone app, not as a plug-In. If you need plug-ins there are other editions available.

SoundSoap Solo is an amazingly simple, yet powerful application for making audio squeaky clean. If you’re on a limited budget like me, but need a way to quickly improve the sound quality of a recording without spending days reading manuals and watching hours of tutorials, check this out! It’s a super value for what it does and how well it does it. It cleans up any kind of audio, even within a video, and it doesn’t interfere with the video quality at all — just improves the sound. It’s great for removing background noises, i.e., fan, A/C, refrigerator, poorly grounded electronics hum, fluorescent light noise, etc. It has an automatic noise detector that works like a charm. I did a lot of research before picking this up. I chose SoundSoap Solo over other products for the following reasons:
