Check the state and channel configuration for built-in Wi-Fi.

Overview

Airtool is a system menu-bar application that provides basic functions to check the state and channel configuration of the built-in Wi-Fi adapter, as well as to perform frame captures on single and multiple channels. It can be used together with Wireshark to let you change channel settings while performing live frame captures. In addition, captures can be automatically uploaded to CloudShark.

Features:
  • See Wi-Fi adapter state (associated, not associated) and channel information
  • Disconnect from network
  • List supported channels and channel widths
  • Perform frame captures on single or multiple channels
  • Change channel settings while performing live frame captures from external tools such as Wireshark or tcpdump
  • Automatically or manually upload captures to CloudShark

Note: While the software is classified as free, it is actually donationware. Please consider making a donation to help support development.

What's new in Airtool

Version 1.9.2:
  • Fixes an issue when using multiple displays.
  • Removes the "Link-Layer Header" menu item that allowed you to choose the link-layer header used for capturing. Airtool will now always use Radiotap as the link-layer header as support for other headers has been dropped in newer Mac models.
  • Other bug fixes and improvements.

Small but powerful. I think there isn't another tool to change the wireless-channel (in an easier way). Like it very much. TNX to the developer.
