It's compatible only with Thunderbird 9x, not compatible with 10x. And there is no mention on their site, no update announce in the application and no blog to keep current customers.

I examined the three top email backup apps based not just on the product features and functions, but the support. Too often, we're sold on promises from a fancy website, only to be let down when we run into issues with the app soon after buying it. That said, I love everything about Mail Backup X. It's easy to set up with support for all major email apps, has a simple interface that gives you a snapshot of the status of up to five separate backups, plus you can drill down deep into the folders when you need to. I particularly like that you can not only save it to your Mac but also mirror that to one or more online sites. That said, most of all, I love the support. I had a number of major issues after an apocalyptic meltdown (I lost more than a dozen folders with over 1500 emails, many were critical and dated back more than a decade. Also, many remaining folders and emails have been corrupted). John was able to work through this with me for more than a week before I had put any money down on the table. I'm still trying to find the missing emails from other sources (most, I realise, are gone forever) but at least now, with Mail Backup X, I have confidence my emails will survive Armageddon.

For several versions it requires at least 10.13. And it is also not compatible with 10.15, at least in my configuration the penultimate version crashes the computer. Only by reinstalling the antepenultimate one have I managed to get it to work again. I'll have to test if this works or not. And in reality, as I imagine, it also requires something even more up-to-date, and not even the programmer seems to be aware of it, as usual.

This company responded to a support request after 11 pm at and night and spent 90 minutes with troubleshooting one profile backup. They stayed with me until everything was fixed. I have used MailbackupX for years now, and it has reliably backed up my email accounts. This was the first time I ever had to call their technical support. Special Thanks to John who went the extra mile to see I was completely satisfied. In this day and age it is pretty rare to receive immediate assistance from a real person.
