SyncBuddy overview

SyncBuddy is the easiest backup sync available for your Mac. Designed by the makers of FolderWatch, this new app was built from the ground up to provide simple ONE-WAY sync. It's not meant to replace complex syncing apps like iCloud or Dropbox, but instead offers an extremely fast and reliable way to automatically back up your photos, music, or other important folders to another place on your computer or external/network drive.

Syncing Made Simple:
  • Add a new Sync by pressing the "+" button
  • Select a "source" folder and a backup "destination"
  • Click Preview to verify the results you expect
  • Press Sync and you’re done!
Rock-Solid Sync:
  • Safely preview changes before syncing
  • Exclude files based on size, file extension, or select them manually
  • Automatically syncs to the schedule you choose
  • View real-time stats & activity
Smart Design:
  • Gorgeous and easy to use
  • Intelligent: only copies files that have changed
  • Optional menu bar icon for 1-click syncing
  • Integrates beautifully with OS X Notification Center

No more available (at least in the French App Store), no more Developer website neither... A pity, it was the only app with such a clear GUI and that ability to keep continuously two folders in sync automatically (I mean "no delay"). Typical use case: you work on your folder and it's cloned in real time on a USB key or a duplicate folder in some cloud.

Great app, works really well and is easy to set up. Have used other programs for this purpose like Synk, ChronoSync and Sync folders pro, but I’m most satisfied with this one. Fun fact, it’s also the cheapest. Other apps are harder to set up, and I have ran into a few situations where files where not copied due to database errors and such. It does lack a few features such as auto mounting network drives, updating metadata of files that really haven’t changed(it’s better to update the backup too much, than too little). But it has succeeded magnificently in copying my data(400 GB) to a network drive for many times. So if that’s your goal, than this app is a very good purchase.

Maybe it's the way I use it in my workflow but I couldn't notice any diference between this app and the previous sync app by this developer, FolderWatch. Both are great, anyway, and they do exactly what is told in their description.
