anAtlas's primary goal is to help you quickly locate places on Earth. anAtlas will retrieve search results from Internet search engines as well as local databases. As the results are gathered, they are listed and shown on a map of the world.

QuickLinks provide links to additional information on a location such as maps, imagery weather, and nearby airports. Favorites allow you to store and edit locations for later use. A Hub location allows you to set a base for range calculations. anAtlas also supports dropping and pasting of your own location data for plotting.

to previous comment : stupid, as geology and lots of the geography infos do not need that often many updates ! (BTW, are you an author of a competitor program that sells for 6 dollars or more ans has less features ? )

Outside this, we still miss a decent atlas with decent map resolution and a variety of useful information. It's easy to have tons of great ideas for future versions.

As freeware, this one is okay. But we need a lot more.

It's "easy to have tons of great ideas for future versions", yes. But instead of complaining so much, why don't YOU learn to develop a better atlas instead? Then offer it FREELY for people and then continue developing after comments such as yours are posted up. If you can do this, go ahead. Otherwise please post constructive criticism, or don't post anything.

The author has developed this program for FREE. Please consider that and show some sense of maturity and support for their hard work.
