Dual-pane file manager.

Overview

Commander One PRO Pack is a dual-pane file manager for OS X based on Swift, which allows you to manage your files in the best possible way. It allows you to see all hidden files on your Mac, you can change the name of any file or folder when moving it, work with local and network drives. Program also offers you the Brief Mode, so you could see and manage multiple files and folders at once. For your utter convenience, Commander One has a built-in Terminal emulator with all needed options, but without jumping between the apps. You can also use various color themes created by us to personalize your Commander One and tune your very own for unique appearance.

You will get the dual-pane interface for easy moving and copying files from one place to another; multi-tab browsing for eliminating clutter; advanced search for locating files quickly by name or content plus Spotlight search; file operations queueing, hotkeys setup for any action, ZIP support with compressing, extracting and full access, preview multiple types of files incl. binary and hex.

PRO Pack of the application offers additional benefits: built-in fast FTP client that enables you to connect to remote server through FTP, SFTP or FTPS; easy access to data on your devices, both iOS and Android; compression and extraction of ZIP, RAR, TBZ, TGZ, 7z files; integration of any number of Dropbox accounts.

Awesome application and finder alternative packed with a ton of features, dual pane, zip and extract, processor monitor, iOS and Android management with FTP and cloud storage management , typically all in one app to manage my files and folders without any hassle, highly recommend this app for both free and pro version.

I've been using this for over a year. It's a helpful way of copying files to and from cloud services with one interface, or backing up files to an external drive.

Love, better than the original Norton Commander. Been using it for 5 years, worth every penny for the Pro Pack. Thank you bringing this to Mac OS X

I won a license for the pro pack. Each time I had to reinstall this app, and so each time I had to reactivate the pro pack, I got a "license already used" error message. Each time I had to contact the support to 'reset' the license. It's really a good example to say: Honest people aren't rewarded. People who use a cracked version have no problem. So I don't recommend you to waste your money for this app. Last time I had to reinstall this app, I gave up with the license..

I wish making multiple selections would work *just* as in finder. I think the extra overlay adds confusion and visual noise, as do the quirky way you can select multiple files by clicking them and "dragging" over them. It works, as long as the item you "start" at isn't the "selected" item underneath. As i said, i think it adds unnecessary confusion and should be optional (let's say an option in preferences, and default to off).

I love the idea & it's a great tool. I'm using it for FTP, Amazon S3 and cloud storage such as Google and Dropbox. As an alternative to finder, it's great. The UI is 'busy', and needs to be, to accommodate the many features it offers. Commander One works well in Mojave without compromising the system's integrity and is a great all-round find/ search tool. Nice!

Works wery well, especially for managing files on an android phone. This app is the best one for MTP devices and OSX, even though a syncing function is missing (it's possible with rsync via the built-in terminal, but it's not very funny).

Like the concept, fairly ease of use. Decent Finder alternative for moving things around. An issue for me is that in CO V 1.2 my MTP device is always recognised, which is no longer the case in CO V 1.7 so I stick to V 1.2

I have tried many file managers and found that Commander One PRO fits me best. SFTP/FTP, Cloud services, Android browser, Archiver and background copying are the features that made me choose it. Great file manager!

Used Commander One for about a year quite regularly. It's definitively one of the better dual panel file managers out there. Some unique features, like iOS and Android file system browsing. Some things I don't like: - The interface is bloated. You can remove most of the distracting UI elements, but still room to improve. - UI in general. Example: Select multiple folders, execute "Folder Size" from menu. You'd expect that it will calculate the size of all selected folders? Wrong, just the one under the cursor. - Some unintuitive keyboard shortcuts. Just an example: Cmd+F opens the connections manager. Cmd+F should nowadays be search, even though it was Opt+F7 in the old days in TC. - The terminal emulation. Not well integrated, keyboard navigation between panels and terminal input should be really optimized. - It crashes occasionally, mostly when copying many files. I don't do that with C1 any more. Huge bummer.

Great file manager - however App Store version notoriously lags behind. It would be so nice to have it updated as well.

The most powerful Mac file manager I've ever used. Worthy successor of Total Commander for Windows. Highly recommended!

MAN! I am so stoked. I used Total Commander for years in my previous life with PC's (ugh). SOOOOOOO much better than the Microsoft File Manager during those years, and the FTP capability was far easier and faster than the other programs available.. NOW.... awesome that it has been ported to MAC! Excellent. (Purchased today via the App Store (Ver 1.2) on Special for $1.99 )

(MAS) Classic. Opened it for the first time, didnt even take 10sec until it crashed. How can i give anything than the worst possible rating for this? make it work first, then we can talk features. from the pictures ive seen of it, i think you need to clean up the menubars. this is like the internet explorer of my mom when she accidentally installs 5 browser menu plugins. seriously. just look at all these menu bars! there are 6 before the actual content start and every single one has a different look. no wonder the inventor of total commander approves of your application, he must have been blind. please for the love of god hire somone who knows UI and UX. this is embarrassing besides the fact that the app doesnt even work on my computer.

To Developer: Hi, I am interested in getting a license for the pro pack. Is there a way to add the additional "lifetime upgrades" - maybe in a second step later? Looks like it is not possible on MacUpdate here. Thx.

Clean and tidy, does what it says with no fuss, I bought mine from the App Store, and the reviews there are all OK a real cross section, but on the whole fine. Nice little dual pane commander, a classic design, had this a couple of weeks and no complaints.

Good file manager, however I purchased it via App Store and that version is not updated (which I do not understand why). I leave a fair rating but an explanation would be nice!

I clicked on the star bar at the top right, thinking it would take me to the reviews, and accidentally left a 3 star rating. I can't figure out how to remove it so I'm posting this to help undo the negativity. Hopefully someone can point out how to remove my rating.

For those using TotalFinder and XtraFinder: Once column view is implemented this will be far superior. Thanks ... Ken

This would top TotalFinder and XtraFinder IF: 1) Add column view. 2) Allow larger font sizes. Otherwise a great utility.
