Corrected rating = ★★★★★ In light of facing a few tight deadlines, I gave Bootstrap Studio another try. I was pleasantly surprised how it allowed me to rapidly create a few prototypes that are close to production-ready with a much lower mental burden. I realized that it didn't have to be "all or nothing" tool. I find it to be a huge win if I can speed up the process for the first 80% of the workflow and then polish the remaining details in a text editor. Now, I strongly recommend Bootstrap Studio even for someone who can code. In fact, I would say it is a tool for those who understand HTML/CSS to make the process faster and more efficient.

I would like to retract my previous review. It is faster to learn a straight Bootstrap framework and work directly with code in one of many text editors (Atom, Sublime Text, etc.) than trying to figure out how to work around Bootstrap Studio's GUI getting in the way of customizing the code. If you want pre-fabricated Bootstrap components, free ones are available everywhere on the Internet, and it's far easier to customize them in a code editor. Simply put, there is no way around learning to code properly if you want to call yourself a web developer. And Saas solutions (Squarespace, etc.) are better if you just want something up and running quickly. Give it up.

It's the only Bootstrap site generator that generates the code that won't look like a code generated by a tool. Works well as a tool to quickly generate a prototype you can develop into a production site. It's still ideal to learn HTML/CSS and code in a decent text editor such as Sublime/Atom, but it is an acceptable tool if you must use something like this to get started.
