2.0.2
17 August 2015

Easily split or merge files on Mac.

Overview

EasySplitMerge lets you easily transfer large files with the split and merge features. It allows you to split large files or reconnect the partial files to safely restore them. It supports splitting of any file, with no limit to file size or file type--such as archives, video, music, movie, backup, images, text, and other document files. It can make Internet distribution and file sharing much easier by dividing big files into smaller pieces.

When EasySplitMerge splits your file into pieces, it can also make a self-uniting program in the same folder and can be distributed with your split files, which will allow anyone to join the pieces together in order to restore the original file without EasySplitMerge having to be installed.

What's new in EasySplitMerge

Version 2.0.2:
  • Support generates a self-uniting program to restore your split files. This is very important in that all end users can restore the original file, even if they do not have EasySplitMerge installed on their computer.

Does the self-uniting program work on other platforms besides Mac, ie, Windows, so that the person receiving the pieces can unite the pieces when he/she is not using a Mac? You do say it works for "all end users."

I used the trial app. It does a nice job on my Mac, but without a universal method for recombining the pieces sent to non-mac users (admitted by the developers), easysplitmerge is seriously limited. It would be great if all my friends and family used Macs, but they don't.
