I would suggest taking a look at JABMenu, a similar app, if you are looking for other features or ways to improve iAddressX.
I still have my original license email from MibaSoft for my purchase of iAddressX from January 7, 2003. It cost $8 at that time. JABMenu costs $15. I know your time is valuable and your efforts sincere, but I would suggest keep the price where it currently is, at $9-10.
Finally, the menu bar icon does not work when using the "dark menubar and Dock" option (the icon does not reverse, so you can barely see it) and the dark bezel around the type when showing the Large Type option seems too dark. I've emailed your support team with these same concerns.
However the Large Type option is extremely legible and since close inspection shows that the background shows through the dark bezel I wouldn't want it any less dark.
I used the program for only a few minutes before buying it at it's current half price. The program is blazingly fast. I have almost 2700 contacts and over 140 groups yet I can scroll through the list in 2 seconds with the mouse or type the first few letters of a group or person to move there instantly. I’m running on a Mac Pro (Early 2009) so it’s not the latest hardware by any means.
After using it for a few weeks I would gladly pay up to $30 for the program. I can select any field in a person's contact information and paste it into whatever program I'm using without opening the Contacts program or having to close it later. As soon as I move the mouse after selecting Paste the item is inserted in my current program.
Thanks for taking the time to give us feedback. I have looked at all the competing products that I can find including JABMenu. It is the most recent but dates back to 2012. JABMenu does have a pretty UI and we have some better icons we are working on for a future release. We also have made a change in the "@" icon to make it more visible in the dark menubar option. That is in the 3.6 release. We appreciate the feedback during our successful 2-month beta and are happy we could fit in a change. Please feel free to contact us with other great ideas.
Does JABMenu take a while to display your contacts? This is the point which may have me returning to iAdd-X.
Just sent an email to the folks at Tropical stating the above.
