iCloudStatus overview

iCloudStatus is the missing piece of OS X 10.10 Yosemite that shows a status icon for iCloud Drive right in your menu bar so there's no more digging around in the Finder to see when your files have been uploaded. When you add files to iCloud Drive, iCloudStatus will stealthily detect the changes and show you how much progress has been made, then notify you when it's finished. Clicking on the iCloud Drive status icon brings up a popup window containing other useful information such as:

  • List of all active transfers and their current progress
  • History log of all transfers so you know what files where transferred when
  • Optional preferences such as a notification when transfers are complete.

What’s new in version 1.2.3

Version 1.2.3:
  • Minor update which fixes bug that causes “calculating disk usage…” label to not update.

I had tested it on Yosemite, and it worked great. Now on El Capitan (10.11.3) it crashes during launch. It's just 2 bucks, and I'll buy it immediately once it works again. (Rating is for Yosemite.) I'm just wondering why it's not 64 bit (at least according to MacUpdate).

Really fills a gap in iCloud execution, I think. Caught EVERYTHING coming into iCloud, even files being synced between mobile devices. Very sturdy. Had a question and the developer responded quickly over the holidays. Wish the nag screen on the demo offered a way to cancel and quit when the user needs to access a process immediately and doesn't have time to purchase right then.

A great feature would be to implement encryption OpenPGP (GnuPG) natively. As the files are upload are being encrypted with the user's PGP key.
