Oni Level 2

05 January 2001

Add level 2 to the Oni demo.

Overview

The Oni demo currently allows you to play the real 1st and 4th levels of the game. This file allows you to add in the real 2nd level and play it in the Oni demo.

To install, just drag evel2_Final.dat, level2_Final.raw, and level2_Final.sep into the "GameDataFolder" folder. Then drop the folder called "manplant" found in folder "IGMD" into the folder "IGMD" of your Oni demo folder. Enjoy!

I played this level off of the PC Oni demo (see http://oni.bungie.org/res/ for more info) and eveything was great except for the sound which was entirely static (thus a 2 on the sound/graphics). This level is my favorite level in the 3 I have played, I am just wondering if this package fixes the sound? Could someone who has downloaded it let me know?

I know exactly why the panels don't work. Mac, for some reason, I think, doesn't have SDK or something. I think that makes it for some reason that something downloaded of the net doesn't work because mac doesn't support all scripted actions. I'm not sure, though.

Yea, I thought I'd love playing Level 2, but the sound is so screwed up that I can't hear a thing, and for some reason it makes the whole thing a drag. The extended "storyline" parts just end up being really boring waiting periods where all you hear is static. And Why couldn't they have let you escape out of the movie sequences anyway.

Tried two downloads on new imac. Neither one was playable other than walking around in an empty factory. When Oni tries to operate control counsels they don't open doors or allow entry to other rooms like the other levels do. Unless I am totally missing a key move in the game.

The storyline in this add-on level is the best out of the three available in the demo. Unlike the two level skip in the original, you get a better feel for what those rascals at TCTF are up to an what the syndicate is doing. Level two is quite challenging as opposed to level one (or even four) but the plot catches you up and the whole thing is a pleasant adrenaline ride. If it weren't for that damned static! Some words of advice: turn down the volume and switch on subtitles. The gritty audio will bring tears to your eyes.

This game is fantastic! If they could only make a level 2 addon where all the audio isn't freakin static! I would be really impressed. One other thing, the game will not restart automatically after changing res. settings, not that big of a deal, but it bugs me. Oh yeah, when the hell do we get Halo!

An excellent demo of what appears to be an awsome game. I'm really excited to get my hands on the full version when it ships!

This download does not fix the sound problem, but does save on downloading the whole PC demo.
