I downloaded this app to try it when I saw it discounted - glad I didn't buy it. You can't open a pdf file with this application: the open command in the file menu is grayed out and if you do a 'Open with...' in some application like Path Finder or drag a pdf file to the application icon, you get an error saying it can't open files in the pdf format! The only way to get the file into the app is to drag it onto an open window - somewhat inconvenient, IMO. On the tool bar there are two buttons, labeled 'dro' and 'ema,' (no tool tips) which mean upload a file to DropBox and Email as an attachment, respectively (were they limited to three characters?). If you do something that produces a warning, most resulting dialogs have a single button labeled 'Yes.' In one warning dialog the warning is 'PDF isn't exists !.' For a file that you have dragged into the application, to remove it from the list, you 'Delete' it from a contextual menu, which gives the warning 'The file is to be deleted. Do you want to proceed?,' which sort of suggests that it might delete it from the file system (it doesn't); a little better wording would be in order.
I opened a couple of editable pdf tax forms from the IRS to see how it would handle them. Whereas most other pdf utilities readily allow editing in these forms, in PDFManagerUltimate I couldn't make any changes, couldn't enter any data. I opened up one pdf with two pages, deleted the second page, but it didn't give any indication of the file being dirty. When I saved it, no changes were saved. Also, when 'editing' one of these pdfs, the Page Up/Page Down and Home/End keys don't work.
Preferences... in the application menu is grayed out, so you are unable to change the behavior in any way.
All-in-all, it appears to be a pretty sloppy programming job to be asking $70 (or even half that for a promo). Oh, and the evaluation period is three days.
