Get http://www.freemacsoft.net/liteicon/ .

It's a bit juvenile to rate it 1/2 star because you are ignorant of how to use it.

Actually, since you're running ML, you'll need their older product CandyBar instead: http://www.macupdate.com/app/mac/8948/candybar

You can do it yourself without any tools, the following works for ML and Maverick

Backup your originals just in case.
Navigate to Machintosh HD > System > Library > CoreServices > Dock
Right click and "Show Package Contents"
Contents > Resources
Scroll down to find the files "trashempty.png", "trashempty@2x.png",
etc and back them up. There should be 8 trash*.* files.

Replace old icons with new ones, and delete the reflections.
They aren't needed or you can leave them there.
size is minimum 128 x 128 for regular png files, although larger ones would work. OS X will size them depending on the size of the Dock. The @2x versions are used for Retina displays, adjust pixel size according to match your originals.

When finished, Open Terminal.app and type "killall Dock".
This clears the icon cache. You may also have to reboot.
You can also use this method to change other icons you see in the same folder, like the default Finder icon in the left most side of the Dock. I replaced my Finder Icon with a throw back icon of the 1984 Mac. I also use this method to replace the active indicator symbol used for the active apps on the Dock, by default the tiny white glowing dot. These are the indicator_*.png files, in different sizes. I replaced them with bright red triangles.

Web is full of replacement icons. DeviantArt is a good source for unique and creative icons or pics you can convert to icons.
