As a heavy vim user, glad to see another alternative came around. It seems like a promising project, even a bit unstable for now. Most of my installed plugins still work with VimR.

A security flaw has been found in the source version of Vim. Be sure you keep VimR up-to-date with the latest version. Details are provided in the report linked below:

"If you haven’t patched Vim or NeoVim text editors, you really, really should
Sandbox escape in the ancient text editors lets attackers get a reverse shell."

LAME! Give us REmacs, NOT VimR!!!!! :P Just joking, had to get a good emacs vs vi religion (or operating system if you are a good emacs user) war going here since I'm an emacs guy... ;)

I've been through those religious wars and now just use the best tool for the job/client at hand. Loved Emacs since early '80 when I met Berrnie who wrote it for Multics. Remember Multics? Probably not, but if it hadn't been for Bell Labs dropping out of the Project Mac at MIT Unix may not have been created. Remember, vi came bundled with Unix. It is a much more popular editor among Unix users than Emacs. I have a hard time convincing my oldest grandson on the merits of learning Emacs given all the other stuff he is learning in college. At least his part time job is giving him the opportunity to learn Swift with some really bright people.
