Yes, FCPX can. One synchronised clip at a time. So, you have to manually sync each file by hand. Have you ever edit a tv series or a short/feature film? Those projects have hundreds of files. But FCPX can't do a batch sync. So, you need some third-party utility to do the job. To be honest, sync-n-link X isn't a good utility especially for the price. There's some egregious limitations and developers didn't want to fix them.
