Excellent software, like all of FipLab applications. Scanning is blazingly fast, 2-4 seconds, depending on the size of the folder. Quick View to see the file/image. Only what is missing is the ability to open a file with a related application. But instead, one click to show it in Finder, and then use any application to open that file. Even in DaisyDisk you can open the file with Preview only. Could FipLab add this feature ?

Disk Map took exactly 3 minutes to scan 423.8 GB.
DaisyDisk took 1 minute, 5 seconds in Administrator mode.

So DD is certainly much faster, however I find the Disk Map results much easier to read, although I find them somewhat disarranged. Half the width of my screen is taken up by a big empty box representing my Music folder, while many folders and files on the other side are so small their names either aren't shown or are truncated, despite the fact that many are over 400 MB, and some over 1 GB.

I realize the sizes are all relative, but if the Music folder was shown MUCH smaller, there would be MUCH more room for displaying the other folders/files and their names.

For me usability wins out over speed, so I prefer Disk Map.

Bought this along with Disk Doctor as part of the discounted promotion. Very handy to tracking down where the big files and folders are on your hard drive. I found an old video folder that I didnt need which was taking up 4gb.

Do the work on OS X three own root dirs which is (Swedish OS X 10.8.5) /Bibliotek /Program /System However, what everyone wants is not to map out these but OTHER directorys/hdds and the ability to map out the directory /Users (/Användare) is IMPOSSIBLE and just vomits out "No files found. Reduce the min size setting in preferences." which doesn't help changing.
